Browsers are free - Download a fresh edition today!
When I "rule the roost" for a site (e.g. this one), I will not support old browsers. Yes, it's a harsh view and one that is not supported by some in the web design community. I do believe in accessible websites, I just don't believe in supporting old technology. This doesn't mean I will practice dripping edge tech …: but, come on folks, modern browsers have been out there for several years. The link above is your invitation - no R.S.V.P. necessary.
If you cannot update your browser, because you cannot afford to update your computer. I'm sorry. The site will still likely be viewable, using your old browser, it just won't look like it does in the latest browsers.
If you disagree with this view - ask the company who built your car or your TV to make it work like its latest models. Don't be surprised if they laugh at you.
Note: I am not interested in dissenting viewpoints on browser support. I have read all that I care to on the subject since 1998. I choose to move ahead. If you choose to stay behind, that's fine… I can accept that; can you!
