Motivation

What's yours?

Do you have a goal that you are motivated to accomplish? Without a goal or a plan - you will just wander from "thing to thing". Never achieving your true success.

Do you get sidetracked by other aspects of your life or people steering you off course? Why are you letting yourself move in directions that do not get you to that goal or plan.

If your goal is to complete a degree program, and...

  • You spend time at the bar, or play computer games for hours, or watch hours of TV... when you have work to do for that degree program -- you are failing yourself. That time can be better used to move you ahead.
  • You could be going full-time and you only go part-time - because you "want to leave time for partying" -- you are failing yourself. That time can be better used to move you ahead.
  • You are going only part-time because you can't afford the tuition - but you buy a big screen TV with surround sound or spend money on a $2000+ computer gaming machine -- you are failing yourself. That money can be better used to move you ahead.
  • You spend time & money drinking alcohol, smoking cigarettes, or doing drugs -- you are failing yourself. That time & money can be better used to move you ahead.

If you want to lose weight, buy a house, pay off a debt - you must be motivated to do this. Poor motivation leads to finding a reason to NOT reach the goal - these are called excuses. Stop spending so much time finding excuses and put this time toward that which will help you move ahead.

Motivation is important. It needs to be strong and you need to use it to seek out and complete your goals. Don't allow others to hold you back from reaching your goals or completing your plan.

Yes, being motivated to reach a goal or complete a plan is tough.

You may lose friends along the way - however, those lost friends do not support you - they only want you to stay "where they are". They are not a loss. You fail yourself if you believe you are better off spending time with them... they are an anchor holding you back.

Cut those anchors free. Success is never far off when you stay focused and do not let others affect your motivation.

A little preachy. Sure. But many of us need an occasional kick in the hind quarters.

Unfortunately, some out there never get it. They could be family or friends or people in your neighborhood.

Stay focused, motivated, and on-track. Lead by your own success.
