200,000 miles

I've reached high mileage on a couple of my vehicles, but I've never owned one long enough to get to the 200,000 mile point. Until yesterday... that is!

Our Escort ZX2 - purchased in fall 1998 has now broken the barrier and appears to be strong enough to continue for at least another 1 to 2 years.

There are two unfortunate circumstances to this new mile-marker in the life of the ZX2. 1) I wasn't driving... Shari was returning from a visit with her family, 2) the crossover took place in an non-remarkable area... "a construction zone".

Over 12 years, the ZX2 has been remarkably trouble-free in all this time. Save for what I consider normal "wear & tear" - 2 alternators, a couple of mufflers, wipers, a couple sets of tires, brakes, oil changes, and tune-ups. Mileage-wise the car has done very well.

This ZX2 has turned out to be a great purchase!
